Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Course Syllabus in India

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course syllabus in India is designed and structured by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India. AME is the international license based course through student can build their bright career in the private and government aviation sector worldwide. The student looking to take admission in one of the top AME institute with up to 100% scholarship can apply for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Exam (AME CEE).

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course syllabus are basically dependent on the license so we first come across about the category of the licenses which are such as:

B1: This license is basically related to certify the fit to fly condition of the mechanical parts of the aircraft. This is further classified based on the category of the engine in it:

  • 1: B1.1 license holder are allowed to certifies the airworthy condition of the aeroplane having jet engine. It includes the maintenance, repair, testing, and solving the issues of these aeroplanes.
  • 2: Engineer with B1.2 license are allowed to issue releasing certificate of the fit to fly condition of the aeroplane having piston engine. This license holder performs the duties of the maintenance, replacement, repair, and troubleshoot of the difficulties of the aeroplane with piston engine.
  • 3: B1.3 licensed person carries the responsibilities to maintain, repair, test, certify, and solve the difficulties of the helicopter with jet engine. They are also allowed to issue releasing certificate for the helicopter having jet engine after properly checking it.
  • 4: This license holder has responsibilities on their shoulder for the maintenance, repair, examine, and resolve the issues of the helicopter with piston engine. After ensuring the airworthy condition of the helicopter with piston engine, they are authorized to issue releasing certificate.

B2: This license person is allowed to carry the duty to certify the electrical system, radar system, navigation system, etc. of the aircraft. This license holder can work on the aeroplane and helicopter. This branch of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering commonly heard as “Avionics”.

The table for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course syllabus is given below based on the license. For all license in India, Module 1 and Module 2 are not applicable. The student has not directly approach for the Module 3 in India. All the modules as per license must be passed by the student to achieve the AME license.
