Best ways to control your sugar cravings

Many people are vulnerable to sugar. Sugar is very low in nutrients and should be limited to 6 teaspoons daily for anyone who is physically active.

Eat multiple times

Water is best, but diet drinks can be substituted for sugary drinks if you need something sweet.

You can eat fresh, frozen, dried, or canned fruits. Use water or natural juice to can fruit. Avoid fruit canned in syrup, particularly concentrated syrup. To remove any syrup or juice, drain the fruit and rinse it in a strainer.

Compare food labels to find products that contain the least number of added sugars. Some natural sugars are found in dairy and fruit products. The ingredients list will indicate whether there are any added sugars.
