Luis Milla, the new coach of Indonesia’s Persib

The Indonesian club Persep officially announced, on Friday, the appointment of Spanish coach Luis Milla, who will lead his fifth team after sitting on the bench in the Bozoul Sports Federation, the UAE Al-Jazira, Lugo and Zaragoza.

In addition, Mila also has the experience of being Michael Laudrup’s assistant coach in Getafe and U-21 coach for Spain and Indonesia, precisely his last job on the bench which ended in 2018.

Mila said on her official Twitter account, “Welcome fans from Indonesia. I look forward to joining this great family, meeting you soon and starting work. Come to Persib.”

Earlier, Persib announced the appointment of the Spanish coach through their networks: “Persib Bandung Permatabat officially announces the appointment of Luis Milla as coach. He will lead Persep’s first team after working with interim coach Bodiman Yunus.”

Persep competes in the Indonesian Super League, the first division of the Asian country. In total, they won the League title twice (1994/1995 and 2014) and the Indonesian President’s Cup (2015). Their best result came in the AFC Champions League in 1995, when they reached the quarter-finals. In his other participation, in 2015, he was eliminated from the second preliminary round.
